The tray is made of raw aluminum, a living material that develops its own patina over time. It is precisely that slightly worn, dull and used feel we often associate with the classic fast food trays from restaurants, cafes and bistros. The more it is used, the more character it gains.
Aluminum naturally reacts when in direct contact with certain foods and liquids. If you want to protect the surface a bit, we recommend serving on wax paper, for example. Otherwise, our advice is simple: use it, enjoy it, and let it age beautifully.
We recommend hand washing to preserve the finish for as long as possible. The tray is dishwasher safe, but the surface will more quickly develop the patina and more worn appearance that many of us are already used to seeing from the restaurant world.
