A classic Marseille soap with olive oil from Marius Fabre, hand-carved and with ribbon for hanging
The rustic soap bar is hand-cut and stamped according to tradition, just like in the past. The hole and ribbon mean that the soap can easily be hung by the sink, in the shower or on a hook, so that it can dry between uses. Each bar has its own unique and genuine expression.
Made in Salon-de-Provence in the south of France using the traditional Marseille method where the soap is boiled in a cauldron. Marius Fabre has been making soap in the same place since 1900 and the craft has been passed down through four generations 🇫🇷
The base of vegetable oils, mainly olive oil and coconut oil, provides a mild and gentle cleansing for the face and body. The olive oil has nourishing properties and helps the skin maintain its natural moisture balance. The soap is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin.
Made without palm oil, perfume, dyes, preservatives or synthetic additives. The ingredients are of natural origin and the soap is biodegradable.
A true everyday classic that is both sturdy and versatile. Feel free to hang it to dry between uses and it will last even longer.
Use
Use to cleanse face, body and hands. Moisten the soap, lather with water and rinse. Hang the soap bar up after use and let it dry, so it lasts longer.
The soap can also be hung in the wardrobe where Marseille soap is traditionally used to help keep moths away from clothes.
And then there's a slightly more unexpected French housewife trick: putting a piece of Marseille soap under the sheet at the foot of the bed to counteract nighttime cramps. Does it actually work? You'll simply have to try it yourself and decide. We like the tradition regardless 🇫🇷
