Mon Bistro Dala horse 13 cm
A Swedish classic in Mon Bistro costume. Our own Dala horse is developed in an exclusive collaboration with Nils Olsson Dalahästar AB in Nusnäs. A unique design where one of Sweden's most beloved crafts meets the colorful world of Mon Bistro.
This is a collaboration we are incredibly proud of. Nils Olsson Dalahästar was founded by the brothers Nils and Jannes Olsson in 1928 and to this day the Dalahästar are still manufactured in Nusnäs in Dalarna. Behind every horse is love, craftsmanship and tradition.
The history of the Dala horse dates back to the 18th century. The traditional craft still lives on today. The horses are carved to their final shape with a mora knife before being painted and decorated by hand. The characteristic pattern is called krusmålning and because the decoration is painted freehand, each Dala horse is unique.
For our Mon Bistro Dala Horse, classic craftsmanship has met our own world of colors. The result is a Dala horse in Mon Bistro purple with bright details, exclusively designed for Mon Bistro & Friends.
A piece of Swedish craft history. But in our own way.

An extra big thank you to Charlotte who came up with the idea for the collaboration and connected us with Nils Olsson Dalahästar. And an equally big thank you to Henrik, CEO of Nils Olsson Dalahästar, for a fantastic collaboration and for wanting to create this together with us. We are incredibly proud of the result and so happy that our very own Mon Bistro version of a Swedish classic is now available for real.
